A trademark is a mark used to distinguish your goods or services from those of others — a word, name, logo, device, combination, shape, packaging, sound or another eligible mark.
In India, trademarks are governed by the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and Trade Marks Rules, 2017. A registered trademark is generally valid for 10 years and can be renewed for further 10-year periods.
What you can register: brand name / word mark, logo / device mark, tagline or slogan, combination mark, sound mark, and distinctive shape or packaging.
There are 45 classes under the Nice Classification — Classes 1–34 for goods and 35–45 for services. The right class depends on what you actually sell.
™ vs ®: ™ is commonly used to indicate a claimed trademark or application. ® should be used only after registration. Filing does not guarantee registration.
Our ₹6,999 price is for an Individual, Startup or Small Enterprise in one class, including the applicable government fee. For other applicants it is ₹10,999 per class. The official e-filing fee is ₹4,500 per class for Individuals, Startups and Small Enterprises, and ₹9,000 per class in other cases.
