The FSSAI State License is issued by the State Food Safety Department. Under the thresholds revised from 1 April 2026, it applies to eligible food businesses with annual turnover above ₹1.5 crore and up to ₹50 crore, subject to the Kind of Business.

Typical applicants are mid-sized restaurants and cloud kitchens, caterers, food manufacturers and processors, dairy units, storage and distribution businesses, and hotels operating within a single state.
