GSTR-9 is the annual return that consolidates everything you reported in GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B during the financial year. It is due by 31 December after the year ends.
| Turnover in the year | What you file |
|---|---|
| Up to ₹2 crore | GSTR-9 is optional |
| Above ₹2 crore | GSTR-9 is mandatory |
| Above ₹5 crore | GSTR-9 plus GSTR-9C reconciliation statement |
The return is your last chance to report missed sales, reverse wrong input credit and fix differences between your books and monthly returns. Late filing attracts a late fee per day, capped as a percentage of turnover.
We reconcile your books with GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B for the whole year, explain every difference and file once you approve.

Questions, answered
Is GSTR-9 mandatory for everyone?
It is optional for taxpayers with turnover up to ₹2 crore and mandatory above that. Composition taxpayers file GSTR-4 instead.
What is GSTR-9C?
A reconciliation statement between your audited books and GSTR-9, required when turnover exceeds ₹5 crore. It is self-certified.
Can I correct mistakes in GSTR-9?
Not after filing — there is no revision. That is why we reconcile carefully before submitting.
What is the due date?
31 December following the financial year, unless the government extends it.
