Do home bakers and tiffin services need FSSAI?
Yes. Anyone who makes, sells or serves food needs at least basic FSSAI registration — including home bakers selling on Instagram or WhatsApp.
Does a cloud kitchen need a separate licence for Swiggy and Zomato?

What is the penalty for running without FSSAI?
Operating without a valid registration or licence can attract a fine of up to ₹5 lakh and imprisonment of up to 6 months, besides your listing being taken down.
How long does FSSAI registration take?
Basic registration usually takes 7–10 working days. State and Central licences take 30–60 days and may involve an inspection.
