How to Use This GST Calculator

This tool works in two modes:

Mode 1 — Add GST (Tax-Exclusive)

Use this when you know the base price before GST and want to calculate the final price including GST. Example: A product costs ₹1,000 (base). At 18% GST, the total is ₹1,180.

Mode 2 — Remove GST (Tax-Inclusive)

Use this when you have the MRP or price including GST and want to find the original base price and GST component separately. Example: An item is priced at ₹1,180 (inclusive). At 18%, the base is ₹1,000 and GST is ₹180.

CGST vs SGST vs IGST: For sales within the same state (intra-state), GST is split equally into CGST (Central GST) and SGST (State GST). For sales between states (inter-state), the full GST is charged as IGST (Integrated GST). The total rate is the same either way.
